The
Southern Underground Railroad consisted of slave flight, and community
support for slave flight. Our case study research is divided into three
categories: Fugitives, Accomplices, and Others. Fugitives were men and
women attempting to escape from slavery. Accomplices were those who aided
fleeing slaves, and Others were men and women who were indirectly connected
to slave flight. Individual stories of the Southern Underground Railroad
are in Stories of Flight. |
